Salary: $100k to $130k
About Your Role
The Fleet Maintenance and Compliance Manager will oversee all
aspects of fleet operations, ensuring compliance with federal,
state, and internal policies. You will manage the acquisition and
maintenance of vehicles, driver adherence to schedules, and
company-wide fleet standards. Your leadership will be critical in
implementing continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing fleet
utilization, reducing costs, and ensuring the highest safety
standards are met. Additionally, you will design and implement
scalable programs to enhance fleet compliance and maintenance
operations, ensuring sustainability and growth as the fleet
expands.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
- Lead the planning and implementation of safety and compliance
policies, enforcing FMCSRs, DOT regulations, and OSHA standards to
ensure driver and fleet safety.
- Develop scalable fleet compliance and maintenance programs that
can grow with the business, ensuring they meet both current and
future operational needs. Accountable for data collection and
submittal of monthly tax reports and quarterly IFTA tax reports and
payments.
- Conduct audits and utilize telematics systems to monitor and
track driver and vehicle performance, implementing corrective
actions where necessary to reduce downtime and improve operational
efficiency.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives by optimizing fleet utilization,
negotiating national vendor repair contracts, and leveraging data
to forecast fleet needs and capital expenditures.
- Manage preventive maintenance programs and coordinate with
internal and external mechanical contractors to ensure fleet
readiness and compliance with regulatory requirements. Accountable
to Annual permits for trucks in the fleet.
- Standardize and scale preventive maintenance and compliance
protocols to maintain efficiency across multisite operations,
ensuring consistency in safety and performance metrics.
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and lead continuous
improvement projects aimed at enhancing fleet operations and
reducing operational costs.
- Direct cross-functional teams and foster a culture of
accountability, safety, and operational excellence within fleet
management.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in fleet maintenance and
management, with a proven track record of designing and
implementing scalable fleet compliance and maintenance programs
across multisite operations.
- Demonstrated expertise in leading safety and compliance
initiatives, with direct experience managing FMCSA/DOT/OSHA
compliance programs that resulted in measurable improvements in
safety and operational efficiency.
- Proven success in optimizing fleet operations through
data-driven decision-making, with a focus on reducing costs,
improving asset utilization, and enhancing preventive maintenance
systems.
- Strong leadership capabilities, with demonstrated experience in
managing teams, driving process improvements, and overseeing the
successful execution of complex fleet operations.
- Experience in vendor negotiation and cost management, with the
ability to demonstrate quantifiable results in reducing repair and
maintenance costs through strategic partnerships.
- Valid Driver s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
(MVR)
- May be required to work irregular hours, nights and weekends or
holidays and may be required to work on-call activities.
